If its Fake, it aint safe!

The Irish Medicines Board (IMB) has issued a warning to beware of counterfeit make-up.  Customs officers have reported that the illegal importation of fakes is up by 60pc on last year, and that since October.
Do we think its such a bad thing if its cheap?? Yes, it is.
Fake makeup is equally unregulated as dangerous conterfeit cigarettes that have all stuff in them that lead to a quicker route to cancer, and while the health issue isn’t as serious as it is with illegal cigarettes, the IMB says that the seized beauty products “have been found to contain dangerous compounds such as lead and cadmium.”  Now, some stuff you already own probably contains trace elements of these too – but in tiny and proven-to-be-safe concentrations.  In uncontrolled doses, “chronic long-term exposure to cadmium can result in impaired kidney function,” the paper reports, adding, “lead can accumulate in the body over time and chronic long-term exposure can impact on the central nervous system.”
And what brand is the one most aped? Oh, you guessed it: Mac.
Some fake MAC

The products you’re being offered at knock-down prices just aren’t worth it, and in handy bullet point form, here’s why: The very basic thing here is the products are not what they say they are. You have no idea what’s in there and how it’ll react on your skin. Some of my own tips wud be.
MAC do not do full brush sets like the ones being sold on the market that are completely black. MAC brushes carry a black handle and silver metal top where the brushes are held in. In Ireland, you can only get it at extremely selected locations, those being at the country’s most exclusive retailer, Brown Thomas, and its hip little sister, BT2. Nowhere else. That’s it. That’s also why it’s so very very hard to buy real Mac products cheaply online – the brand tightly controls its distribution. The fake products generally are about a gram or 2 heavier (it will state this on the box), and the text somewhat differs, mainly in colour. Please see below image.

So if you know what I'm talking about, what do you think of all this fake stuff, is it worth the danger??? Lets get to it in the comments – this is gonna be an interesting debate, I reckon.
